Kalbarri enjoys a warm mediterranean climate with refreshing afternoon ocean breezes, each season revealing many different experiences to encounter
Summer:
December to February – A warm time of year with an average overnight temp of 19 degrees and daytime temp average 33 degrees.
Traditionally a very busy period with swimming, canoeing, stand up paddle boards and BBQ’s along the foreshore, snorkelling, surfing and swimming along the coastal beaches.
Various boating activities available along with beach volleyball, cricket and kite flying. Summer maximums can reach 45 degrees so it pays to be sun smart and stay protected and hydrated during this time of year.

June to August – The Kalbarri heath land explodes into a kaleidoscope of colour with the onset of wildflower season, bringing clear skies with a max of 22 degrees daily and 10 degrees overnight. A great time for hiking, caravan trips and wildflower viewing.
This time of year is ideal for hiking in the National Park, the cooler temperatures making for a more pleasant experience.
Spring:
September to November – With Humpback whale season in full swing and average day time temps of 26 degrees, Kalbarri is alive during September and October. Whales can be seen from the coastal cliff lookouts as well as on local boat tours.
November is when it starts to quiet down for the shrewd traveller seeking solitude.
